My Story, Unruly football spectator behaviour can be costly – Ahmad Shabery

JAKARTA: Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said today all efforts to develop the national football squad will come to naught if spectators act irrationally and fail to comply with regulations in the stadium.

He cited the example of the World Cup qualifying match between Indonesia and Bahrain at the Bung Karno Stadium here in September which had to be stopped by Fifa, the world football federation, due to the unruly behaviour of the spectators.
