PUCHONG: Local traids are likely to use a new tactic to make a 'killing' on shop owners by extorting money from the sales of 'babi salai' (roasted sweet meet).

In the past, local gang members would pay customary visits to shop owners in their territories to extort money meant as protection for the coming Chinese New Year celebrations.

This year, however, several district police stations have received reports on local gang members improvising their collection methods by selling goods at an exhorbitant price.
