A new Android device called the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus has gone official on the Samsung website. The smartphone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has a 3.65-inch HVGA resolution TFT screen. The screen resolution of 320×480 is a lot lower than some of the high-end phones on the market today, but the upside is that the Galaxy Ace Plus should be much cheaper than some of those other devices.
The smartphone has a 1GHz processor inside and packs in a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. The smartphone supports WVGA video recording and playback at 30 frames per second and supports common audio file formats. The phone has Samsung TouchWiz over the top of the OS. The Ace Plus supports HSDPA 7.2Mbps 900/2100 and EDGE/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 networks.
The Ace plus also has A-GPS, Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and accelerometer, digital compass, and a proximity sensor. Internal storage is 3GB, and the phone has 512MB of RAM and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage. The battery is a 1,300 mAh unit. The official price is unknown.
