My Story, ‘Predator’ cabbies caught red-handed

KUALA LUMPUR: Unscrupulous taxi drivers received a rude shock when they were set upon by undercover enforcement officers during a sting operation around Klang Valley yesterday.

Codenamed "Ops Tegas", the operation, from 6pm to 9pm, saw some 20 enforcement officers from Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) boarding taxis from different locations in Pudu, KL Sentral, Bukit Bintang and Cititel Hotel at Mid Valley.

The Malay Mail observed that some of these taxi drivers nonchalantly picked up their 'passengers' and were clueless of their offences.
