KUALA LUMPUR: The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) wants the company which erected an advertisement billboard in front of Ampang Point in Ampang near here to pay compensation for felling 30-year-old trees in the area.

MPAJ public relations officer Norhayati Ahmad said today the company had chopped down the trees at about 11 am today without the knowledge of the council.

She said the advertising company had only applied to put up a billboard in September but the MPAJ had not given any permission to fell trees there.
