KUALA LUMPUR: The Meteorological Department has withdrawn the tsunami warning for Kedah, Perlis, Penang and north Perak issued early this morning following a strong earthquake on the west coast of north Sumatra.
Geophysics and Tsunami Division principal assistant director Ahmad Zaki Mohamad Saat said the tsunami warning was withdrawn after monitoring in each state showed no tsunami threat at 7am.
