My Story, Fire victims directed to vacate premises immediately

GEORGE TOWN: Traders in Jalan Gurdwara who incurred losses in a fire are in a dilemma after being told to vacate the premises immediately on Saturday.

Scrap dealer Sarimah Packeer Mohamed, 43, said Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) has issued an eviction notice on the ground that they are disturbing local residents.

"We not lost tens of thousands of ringgit but are being driven away. I don't understand how our presence can disturb the residents," she said here today.
